But it will be at least 6 months. My back has to have time to heal and so does my wallet from being off work. What I want to know, is there a resource to decode a VIN? On ebay for instance can't get out much with the back injury but I can type and point a mouse I see a motorcycle listed as an LTD but the side covers don't say LTD. Does it say on the title?
Can that be discerned from the VIN? Anyway I am not sure this is the correct forum but I would appreciate any input you have. Check out our site. Pumps, all motorcycles have a VIN number. Different makes have there own "code" or configuration, that allows you to determine the manufacturing date and the model. To list them all would indeed be a feat! It would be nice to know approx year and capacity, however, it can be achieved with simply the VIN by some experts here.
There is no code per-se, It is just that each model has a unique number with a unique prefix. For example, I know Z's from to sayyet a Kawasaki H2 triple would leave me stumbling.
I did not include the 'C' line Police as I don't know how they fit in this series, but certainly they all used the same engines.Mordheim faction guide

If you're looking for '77, then you may have bit of a wait if you walk away from this one. Index of Forums Recent Topics Search. Welcome, Guest. Username: Password: Remember me. Forgot your password? Forgot your username? Create an account. Hello everyone, I am considering the purchase of a 77 KZ Nice bike that should need little 'love' to become a head turner. I have a number of questions. I have never seen a frame number like that.
What info can I gather from these numbers.Mercedes Vin Decoder
The bike is black and the current owner feels the paint is original. Black is not listed as an option in Green and Red from I recall. Any help, references to sites that can help is appreciated. All the best, Paul. The frame number is not a Kawasaki VIN and either has been reissued to a replacement frame or it is a hot bike with a washed title. In either case, you would have to know where the title was originally issued that first had these different frame VIN 's to attempt to verify authenticity.
Paint is not original. Use the fact the the frame is not original to negotiate a considerable drop in price. Thanks for the advice. Anybody have any idea what brand of frame I may be dealilng with? I thought the XXY portion seemed a little odd. Unless the frame looks markedly different from a stock frame Egli, etcit is likely made by Kawasaki as a replacement frame and as such, was not numbered Are these numbers stamped into the headstock where one would normally find the frame VIN?
The frame looks like the right one. The Vin is stamped on the steering column on the right hand side. If this were a frame from another model of bike, wouldn't it be an odd and obvious misfit. I mean, if this were a Honda CB frame, how could it possibly fit? Assuming this is not the original frame and that it's anybody's guess where this frame came from, what can you suggest this would do to the value of this cycle? I want the bike, but this frame leaves me with too many questions.
I've been keeping my eye open for a '77 for about 3 years now.
It's the first year for the one-liter bike, and it's one I've always wanted, and never owned. I personally wouldn't sweat the frame, as long as the seller has a good title, and the VIN matches the number on the bike. Hard to say what the bike is worth. Just like any vehicle, it's worth more if it's been pampered. Please Log in or Create an account to join the conversation.

I'm trying to identify the year and specific model of my KZ The engine and frame have two different vins. Is this common?? Any help would be great.
The frame and motor always have a different number. The frame number is your vin. Just by the vin you have an ltd. Thats what the B is. Does that make it an MKII??
Last edit: by manover There have been a number of discussions on this site regarding what constitutes a 'MKII' motor. I counsel you to make a list of those attributes and the next time you have the engine apart, check those attributes. Is that a decent model??
I used to have one I'm thinking it's a Ltd but both provided links didnt work for me. Possibly just reading them wrong. The title mirrors the engine number not the frame. Yes, '79 LTD. My wife has a Suzuki DR for on and off road. Powered by Kunena Forum. Page: 1. The bike was originally a dark blue sparkle.
